Year of the Bus Sculpture Trail - London
Kristel is excited to be involved in the Year of the Bus Sculpture Trail organised by Wild in Art and Transport of London. She will be painting this bus for the event!
'During 2014, Transport for London is marking a number of significant milestones for the bus industry through a series of events, activities and exhibitions which will re-connect Londoners with their bus network and celebrate the role that London buses, bus drivers and the staff who support them play in keeping the capital moving 24 hours a day throughout the year.
Key bus related anniversaries in 2014 include:
60 years since the creation of the original and iconic Routemaster.
75 years since the launch of its predecessor the RT-type bus.
100 years since hundreds of London buses were sent to the Western Front to play a crucial role during the First World War.
As part of the Year of the Bus celebrations, 60 painted and adorned bus sculptures will be displayed in free and accessible locations across London’s streets, parks and public spaces from 22 September for seven weeks.
Following the display, the artworks will be auctioned to raise invaluable funds for three charities; Kids Company, Transaid and London Transport Museum'
